Douce Ambiance

Douce Ambiance (French for Sweet Atmosphere) began as a Gypsy Jazz trio playing songs of Django Reinhardt; one of the greatest jazz guitarists in music history.  Randall Closson is the lead guitarist, David Schrenk is the bassist, with Seth Hull on guitar. The band played at multiple venues in North Florida, until one day they were warming up with “La Vie en Rose,” which prompted the venue manager to introduce Corine Samwel to the trio. Without rehearsal, they performed the song to an appreciative audience, and the band and the singer felt a strong connection. Corine adds both her voice and an international flair to the band, singing in primarily French (Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, etc.), English, and with some German and Dutch (her native language) thrown in. In this configuration, Douce Ambiance has grown into a band that creates a sweet listening atmosphere with their European Art songs and Gypsy Jazz instrumental pieces.
